Langkawi, Malaysia – Pen Aviation kicked off LIMA 2025 with a major milestone — the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT). The ceremony was witnessed by Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, marking a significant step in advancing national UAV capabilities.
This partnership bridges academic excellence and industry leadership, combining UniKL’s research and education strengths with Pen Aviation’s UAV platforms and operational expertise. Together, we aim to accelerate innovation, foster knowledge exchange, and drive impactful R&D in the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) sector.
In his remarks, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed the urgency of building a new ecosystem in education, particularly in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), to achieve the government’s goal of producing 60,000 skilled engineers. This collaboration stands as a model for how industry-academia partnerships can help realize that vision.
