Selangor wants to capture 67% of Malaysia’s RM55 billion aerospace economy by 2030. Getting there takes more than policy. It takes operators who can prove they can fly safely and reliably in real conditions.
That’s what Pen Aviation set out to show at the DronePort 1000 pre-launch event, held at Universiti Selangor (UNISEL) in Bestari Jaya. Pen Aviation showcased the full operational workflow of its PEN35VH unmanned aircraft system, from mission planning to execution.
The demonstration was witnessed by Y.B. Dr Fahmi Ngah, Selangor State EXCO, along with representatives from Selangor Aviation & Technology Innovation Sdn Bhd (SELATI), UNISEL, National Aerospace Industry Corporation Malaysia (NAICO), and the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).
A key highlight was watching the PEN35VH’s operations live from inside the command centre, giving attendees real-time visibility into the mission as it happened. This kind of transparency matters for an industry that still needs to prove itself.
As Malaysia’s low-altitude economy continues to develop, the operators who can consistently deliver safe, reliable missions will shape how far and how fast the industry grows. Pen Aviation plans to keep playing that role, supporting Selangor’s aerospace goals through hands-on operational expertise and proven execution.
